As always, our evaluation process is fluid and ongoing, built on multiple viewings and discussions to get the most accurate feel for each player’s abilities. It’s worth noting that while some players show rapid improvement, this doesn’t suggest that others have regressed—player development is simply a journey with peaks and valleys. As the season unfolds, new names will continue to surface, expanding the universe of top prospects in Nevada. In addition to our player evaluations, our scouts—both in-state and nationally—have been in constant dialogue, comparing notes and making adjustments based on the latest insights to ensure the rankings are as up-to-date and accurate as possible.

The Top 10

PLAYERS

COMMITMENT
1 Jake Turner Centennial OF/LHP TCU

The 2025 Prep Baseball All-American holds down the top spot after a successful year both in the high school and club realm. The tools continue to trend and his game naturally elevates when he steps on the field with the top players in the country and was on full display at the Prep Baseball ProCase, then at the #PBAAG25 a few months ago. Expect Turner to put together another big Spring campaign and see his game continue to trend in 2026 as the MLB Draft chatter starts to begin.

2 Cash Martin Faith Lutheran RHP Stanford

The Faith Lutheran product comes off a huge summer campaign that culminated in his commitment to Stanford. A standout at both the Prep Baseball ProCase, then at the 2025 Future Games, Martin is now set to lead a deep pitching staff for the Crusaders this coming Spring and is expected to start generating some MLB Draft buzz. Keep an eye on Martin to continue seeing his name make their way onto more than a few Draft Boards.

3 Connor Long Bishop Gorman IF/RHP Oregon

The recent Oregon commit proved just why one of the top programs in the country locked him down at the Summerlin Guardians Scout Day with massive offensive numbers put up. His advanced understanding of his swing with present power to the big part of the yard makes Long another Nevada '27 that we expect to be seeing his name on more than a few MLB Draft Boards following this coming Spring.

4 Troy Riley Reno RHP Uncommitted

The top Uncommitted player in Nevada's 2027 Class, Riley is expected to be one of the, if not the, next player off the board with present tools on the mound that only project to continue trending as he adds strength to his Prep Baseball Verified 6'2 frame. With his fastball running up to 93+ mph at the 2025 Future Games, Riley pairs it with an excellent split finger changeup that mirrors the arm action of his fastball and causes fits for opposing hitters. With the addition of one more pitch, Riley will only continue to see his stock rise through his junior compaign.

5 Liam Radke Faith Lutheran RHP TCU

Arguably the highest riser of the year for Nevada's 2027 Class, Radke put together one of the top overall performances at the 2025 Future Games and we expect to continue seeing his game trend over the next few months as we expect the added strength gains over the winter break will only amplify each of his pitches along with velocity bumps on his fastball, especially as things warm up this coming Spring.

6 Braden Jones Reno IF/RHP UCLA

Another massive riser in Nevada's 2027 Class, Jones came off a standout sophomore season for the Reno Huskies then carrried it into the 2025 Future Games where he showed off his legitimate two-way capabilities, culminating in his commitment to UCLA. Jones has all the features you look for in a player on the tools side and the high character tool is another plus for him. Do not be surprised when Jones continues to climb in the Nevada Rankings over the next two years.

7 Justin Rodriguez Bishop Gorman IF/RHP Uncommitted

One of the most tooled out players not only in the Silver State, but in the West region. Rodriguez held down shortstop for a talented Bishop Gorman group as a sophomore and now with obvious added strength and size, that was on full display at the Summerlin Guardians Scout Day, you can expect him to lead this team from the front as he has continued to put his game together on both sides of the ball with a ton of room still grow within his game. Keep an eye on this player as one who could also continue to see his name work up both the state and national rankings.

Another player in the mix as arguably the most "tooled out" player in Nevada's 2027 Class, Smaka has game changing speed that he uses to amplify each part of his game. Now back to full health, he took full advantage of his time by adding obvious strength that was on display at the Las Vegas Fall ID where he ran an elite VALD 60 Time of 6.46, then followed it up with 99 mph Exit Velocity. Keep an eye on a healthy Smaka making big jumps this coming Spring.
