Basic 4, Orange Lutheran 2
Basic High School secured a 4-2 victory over Orange Lutheran on Friday, utilizing a quick offensive start and error-free defense. The Wolves jumped ahead in the first inning, fueled by a Lyndon Lee triple, and extended their lead in the third with a solo home run from Troy Southisene. Basic's pitching staff combined to hold Orange Lutheran to just four hits, with Noah Sebastian earning the win and Derek Wenzel securing the save.
Orange Lutheran struggled to overcome the early deficit despite a strong starting performance from Gary Morse, who struck out eight batters over four innings. The Lancers’ offense was led by Brady Murrietta, who drove in a run, but they were unable to capitalize on scoring opportunities against a Wolves defense that committed zero errors.

In a defensive masterpiece that stretched into the tenth inning, Clark outlasted Bonanza for a 2-1 walk-off victory on Wednesday. Both pitching staffs were nearly untouchable, with Bonanza’s arms allowing only four hits and Clark’s staff surrendering just six over ten frames. The game remained a stalemate for much of the afternoon, as both teams combined for 19 strikeouts in a high-stakes battle of attrition.
Clark’s Ryland Gregorich proved to be the hero, delivering the game-winning RBI in the bottom of the tenth to break the tie. On the mound, Clark’s James Hatfield provided seven strong innings, striking out eight, while Hudson Fraidenburg closed the door with two perfect frames. Bonanza's John Willard turned in a dominant relief performance, striking out eight and allowing zero hits over 5.1 innings, but the Bengals were unable to manufacture the insurance runs needed to overcome Clark's late-inning surge.
