Nevada High School Team Rankings: Week 8

Week 8 Record - 1-1

The Wolves hold down the top spot after splitting the series with a talented Faith Lutheran group who is starting to catch their stride at the right time. This Basic group is talented 1-9 in their lineup and will be a group we expect to make a deep playoff run after they wrap up their season finale series this week against Green Valley.

Week 8 Record - 3-0

The Panthers have swung it well all year and continued to prove themselves as one of the most potent lineups in the state with 28 runs posted over the 3 games, including 2 run rule efforts. This Palo group has found their game and is one of the hottest teams heading into the playoffs with their final game against Arbor View on Wednesday.

Week 8 Record - 2-0

This Gaels group is catching their stride at the right time with a pair of big wins this past week over a talented Desert Oasis group. The mixture of young talented plus senior leadership has this group moving in the right direction as one of the teams with the depth of pitching paired with high level bats that are expected to make a significant push for a State Tournament birth.

Week 8 Record - 2-2

The Crusaders are without a doubt one of the most talented groups in the State and their search for the right lineup seems to be paying off after they split a big series with top ranked Basic. This preview into what we can expect over these last two game agasint a gritty Centennial group as we head into the playoffs makes this group one that no one will want to face down the stretch. 

Week 8 Record - 0-2

Arguably one of hottest teams in the state all season, the Miners dropped both games this past week against Reed and Reno. This group has an opportunity to bounce back with big games on the slate this week that they look get back on track with heading into the playoffs next week.

Week 8 Record - 1-0

The Huskies jump up to the #6 spot as of the hottest teams in the state winning 7 of their last 8 with a big win over rival Manogue. This group has proven their ability to win tight games with each of their last 5 matchups behind decided by 2 runs or less and that could be a key difference coming down the home stretch of the season with Reed and Galena on the slate this week.

Week 8 Record - 0-2

The Wildcats come off an 0 and 2 week against a young, talented Shadow Ridge group that has won some big games these past few weeks. This group is still a team that no one will look forward to facing down the stretch with the present talented on both sides of the ball that it takes to make a  deep run. 

Week 8 Record - 3-0

This Arbor View group has won 5 of thier last 6 and including 3 big conference wins that were key as the playoff race tightens up. The offense is peaking at the right time and this is a group we expect to make some serious noise over the next few weeks.

Week 8 Record - 1-1

The Bulldogs split the series against Spring Valley this past week with some areas of their game getting exposed a bit, but was able to tighten them up in Game 2 where they rattled off a 12-0 win. Currently the #4 seed in the Moutain Conference, they control their playoff destiny against the #4 ranked Crusaders.

The Falcons come off a pair of wins this past week with two huge games on the slate this week against a talented Las Vegas squad. Holding a 1 game lead over Desert Oasis while also holding the tie breaker with the win in Game 2 of their series earlier this Spring.
