SECTA at Liberty
The Patriots jumped out early, scoring in each of the first three innings behind back-to-back doubles from Hemphill, Klein-Baker, followed by a three run HR in the 2nd to take a commanding lead, going up 5-0 after 3. That was all HPU Signee, Blakeney, needed as he commanded the zone with each of his three pitches to keep the SECTA bats off balance. Freshman, Rodriguez, added two hits on the day and secured the win in the 7th on the mound.
Two-sport standout, Jaydrien Klein-Baker has continued to see his game ascend, hitting .346 on the year with five RBI's and three doubles. Continued his hot start with a loud double to left-centerfield that brought in the first run of the game and got things rolling for the Patriots as they continued to put together quality at-bats, applying consistent pressure on SECTA that helped them bring across five runs in the first three innings. Keep an eye on Klein-Baker as a key difference maker on the offensive side of the ball for Liberty this Spring.

With Klein-Baker helping get Liberty up early, that was all 2025 LHP/OF, Nicholas Blakeney, needed as he cruised though his 6.0 innings of work, striking out 9 while effectively commanding his fastball, changeup and slider mix. The Hawaii-Pacific University recruit has all the tools, including an impressive pick-off move, that make him a prospect who we project to thrive at the next level, but first he is going to be a key piece on the mound for a Liberty group that is off to an impressive 6-3 start.

Freshman two-way standout, Austin Rodriguez, had himself a day yesterday, already proving he can hang at the high school level as he racked up a pair of hits including an opposite field single that brought in a run and seemingly put the nail in the coffin for Liberty. He hopped on the mound in the bottom of the 7th, showing he has projectable "stuff" with his fastball sitting 82-83 mph with a developing curveball that we project could be a high level pitch in the years to come.

(#10) Foothill at Desert Oasis
A standout effort by West Coast Games attendee, Frye, kept the Foothill bats at bay as he went 6.0 complete, striking out 7 while allowing 0. The DO offense put pressure on the Falcons pitching staff/defense throughout and brought across 8 runs behind a big day at the plate from Berumen and a clutch homerun from Guillermo. The D-Backs bats look to be coming alive as of late and with this team, if the bats go, they will go.
Uncommitted senior, Sebastian Frye, stood tall in yesterday's matchup against the Top 10 ranked Falcons, pitching to contact when needed while also racking up seven strikeouts in his effort. The DO right hander came into this season with a noticeably leaned out frame that seems to have helped him carry his velocity into the later innings, sitting in the low to mid 80's, while also showing improved command of not only his fastball but his slider that he seemed to have confidence to throw in just about any count. The high energy senior set the tone early for the Diamondbacks and the rest of the group fed off that, putting up 8 runs for him to attack more heavily with the fastball.

Foothill utility, Dahlin Scow, has been off the a hot start this Spring, hitting .533 out of the leadoff spot and has been a catalyst for this group that had earned their spot in the Top 10 Team Rankings after a 6-2 start. Scow got yesterday's matchup started with a single back up the middle then tried to get a late rally going in the top of the 7th with a line drive single to centerfield, but Desert Oasis was able to shut the door. Scow has ascended into a critical role for the Falcons and it like they will be relying on him this Spring to be an anchor at the top of their lineup.

A player to keep your eye on this Spring as one who we project to have his breakout year is Desert Oasis shortstop, Lincoln Guillermo. The junior is currently leading the D-Backs with a .429 batting average and added a clutch homerun in yesteday's contest. The improved defensive actions along with the confidence in his decision gives this team an anchor at a premium position for the next two years and we only expect his game to continue trending over the next few years.

Green Valley at (#6) Centennial
The bats were alive in this high scoring matchup that came down to the last pitch as 18 total runs were posted with key homeruns from Centennial's Jackson and GV's Kirby. Multi-hit days from Green Valley's Ferry, Kirby, Van Ness and McNelis lead the way for the Gators with loud days at the plate from Centennial's Jackson, Telfer and Barber.
The top four hitters in the Green Valley lineup all registered multiple hits on the day with CSN Signee, Jacob Ferry, sparking the Gator offense with a leadoff hit-by-pitch that ignited a four run first inning with small ball and quality at-bats helping bring those runs across. In the second, the middle infielder singled through the 6-hole as he tried to spark another rally against the Top 10 ranked Bulldogs.

Centennial is a group that may be down, but never out with the talented lineup they are able to roll out. Senior backstop and Seattle U Signee, Tyler Jackson, proved just that with a massive three-run homerun in that brought the Bulldogs within one. He put together a career day at the plate, going 4 for 4 with four RBIs, 1 BB and 1 R to help lead the way offensively after an early deficit.

With the Bulldogs bringing it within one, Nevada Signee, Caden Kirby, stepped to the plate with Ferry on first and hit the first pitch he saw over the left field wall, a no doubt shot that had the Green Valley dugout erupting. The #9 ranked 2025 has proven to be one of the top bats in Nevada, regardless of class, over the past few years and has continued to prove that this season, hitting .348 on the season and just now catching his stride at the plate.

(#2) Bishop Gorman at (#8) Arbor View
After the Aggies took a commanding 8-0 lead behind a string of hits from DeSantis, Martin (2), Wieger, Long, Blais, Scaggs. The Gaels answered back with 2 in the 3rd and then opened it up with a 7 run 4 that brought them within one with hits from Wilk, Rouvas, Young and Hunter. AV's Hunter continued his big days at the plate with another RBI single to put the Aggies back on top, but BG answered again with a single past the SS to bring in 2. Adding a pair in the top of the 7th, Ciulla closed it out with a scoreless 3.2 inning effort that saw his FB up to 91 mph.
Arbor View infielder, Devin Martin, continues to prove himself as a bat to follow in the 2026 Class and seems to only be scratching the surface of what is to come over the next few years. Registering a 3 for 4 day yesterday against one of the top arms in the State, the 2024 West Coast Games standout was doing everything he could to lead the Aggies to a sweep of the #2 ranked Gaels. His ability to use all fields with excellent feel for the barrel makes him a player to keep a close eye on this Spring and into the Summer.

A big day at the plate from Bishop Gorman's 1 and 2 hitters seems to be the recipe for the Gaels to play how we projected them to play this Spring. Between leadoff hitter, Justin Rodrigues, and two hitter, Alec Kajioka, these two 2027's are the catalysts at the top of the order and when they go, so does Gorman.
A breakout day, that was only a matter of time before coming together, from Rice Signee, Ryan Hunter, is a huge addition to the Gaels lineup as he comes off an injury that got aggravated early in the season and now seems to be back to himself with a pair of critical hits yesterday, including the go-ahead single past the shortstop the brought in two runs and gave the Gaels the lead in the 5th. Hunter getting his game back is a huge addition to the heart of this lineup and we expect him to be a staple as a key contributor moving forward.

With his game on the mound being always looked at as his main priority, recent CSN Signee, Koa Young, continues to be a big piece of the Gaels offensive success and did so again in a key league matchup that evened the series at 1-1 after a late loss to Arbor View earlier in the week. A pair of clutch hits in yesteday's matchup that included an RBI single to right field that sparked a 7 run 4th inning, this is another senior that we expect to have a significant impact on both sides of hte ball this Spring.

Arguably no one has seen their stock rise more over that last year than 2026 right hander, Hudson Ciulla. Earning his spot on Team Nevada for the 2024 Future Games, producing a dominant performance against a stacked Team Arizona, then continuing to see his stock rise throughout the Fall/Preseason, into yesteday's performance where he came in for the final 3.2 innings of works, allowing 0 runs and striking out 4 with his fastball/slider mix that saw him run it up to 91 mph. Do not be surprised if Ciulla gets scooped up by a big program here in the near future.
