The Prep Baseball Virginia/DC staff makes their way across the Commonwealth and DC throughout the spring to assist high school players in gathering evaluations, including video and some data, that allow our staff to assist in the potential recruitment of student-athletes.

Take a look at a few games and players that stood out over the past week of play.

*Schools and player names are in alphabetical order.*

*If a player does not have a profile, we do not have the ability to feature them in a story.*

Collegiate

Jett Bristow OF / RHP / Collegiate, VA / 2025

Every time I get to see Bristow, it tends to be electric. This time was no different.  Over the course of the doubleheader, he tallied five hits and two home runs, showing confidence in the box and the ability to use the whole field. The University of Virginia commit is undoubtedly off to a hot start this year, as he looks to have a solid senior season.

Michael Chambers SS / 2B / Collegiate School , VA / 2026

Lean, proportional frame that has continued to fill out well. Relaxed, balanced setup with level barrel path. He picked up three hits in the team's doubleheader, while also making a few solid plays at shortstop. Short arm action with quick exchanges in the field.

Carter Mitchell 1B / OF / Collegiate, VA / 2025

The physical 6-foot-4 William & Mary commit is a presence at the plate, making at-bats tough for pitchers. In the first game of the day, he sent a no doubt home run out of left center. As the season progresses, Collegiate will rely on Mitchell to be a spark in the middle of their order, especially when they face some of the top arms that they will see.

Emery Williamson RHP / 3B / Collegiate, VA / 2027

A pop up arm that we first got to see at our Preseason All-State event a month ago. The sophomore was up to 85, allowing zero earned runs over 3.1 innings while striking out five hitters. Mixed both the fastball and the slider well, keeping hitters off balance.

Flint Hill

Vincenzo Fiorino C / RHP / Flint Hill, VA / 2025

Sebastian Gratacos 3B / 1B / flint hill school, VA / 2025

The uncommitted senior had a standout performance, seemingly on the barrel every time he stepped into the box. He started his doubleheader off with a home run, turning around a fastball in the high 80s to deep left-center field. Gratacos ended up with five hits and six runs batted in on the day.

Logan Lucca OF / 1B / Flint Hill, VA / 2026

Gloucester

Hayden Simmons OF / GLOUCESTER HIGH, VA / 2026

Matoaca

Grant Capel 1B / LHP / MATOACA HIGH, VA / 2028

Capel came out and had a very intriguing showing. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound left-handed freshman was up to 88 mph from a lower three-quarter slot and overpowered hitters. If he is able to successfully mix in his off-speed pitches throughout the season, he should be a big contributor to the Matoaca pitching staff. Definitely a 2028 grad to keep an eye on.

Seth Harrison C / RHP / Matoaca, VA / 2025

Solid day offensively and defensively for the physical framed Apprentice School commit. Early in the game, Harrison threw out two runners attempting to steal, showing off quick and clean exchanges. Offensively, he was on the barrel twice, recording a couple of hits and an RBI.

New Kent

Dylan Bowman OF / LHP / NEW KENT HIGH, VA / 2027

R. Matthew Gentry OF / RHP / New Kent, VA / 2025

Patrick Henry (Ashland)

Aidan Loucks RHP / Patrick Henry (Ashland), VA / 2026

Long and lanky frame, featuring an over the top arm action that gives hitters tough looks. Loucks showed the ability to work his mid-80s fastball to both sides of the plate, while mixing in a breaking ball that has some late depth. It will be interesting to see how his year shakes out, as Patrick Henry could rely on him to eat up a fair amount of innings this season.
