The Prep Baseball Virginia/DC staff makes their way across the Commonwealth and DC throughout the spring to assist high school players in gathering evaluations, including video and some data, that allow our staff to assist in the potential recruitment of student-athletes.

Take a look at a few games and players that stood out over the past week of play.

*Schools and player names are in alphabetical order.*

*If a player does not have a profile, we do not have the ability to feature them in a story.*

Atlee

Barrett Bucholz OF / C / Atlee, VA / 2026

At the top of the Atlee batting order, Bucholz impacts the game. The athletic University of Virginia commit has a relaxed, balanced setup with rhythm in the hands. The swing itself features a level bat path and quick hands. Bucholz was aggressive in the box all night long, picking up three hits and four runs batted in. Later in the game, he showed the ability to control the bat by dropping down a perfect squeeze bunt and showcased the run tool by beating it out at first base.

Evan Salapka RHP / 1B / Atlee, VA / 2026

The University of Richmond commit came in relief for Atlee and closed out the final two innings with ease. Salapka has a long, projectable 6-foot-5 frame with loose arm action from a three-quarters slot. His fastball was up to 90 mph, and mostly worked it away from hitters, showing the ability to control the outer half. Over his two innings, he recorded three strikeouts and no runs allowed.

Noah Yoder RHP / 1B / Atlee, VA / 2025

Noah Yoder had himself a night that will have his name rising up MLB draft boards. Long, 6-foot-6 frame with a drop-and-drive delivery from a higher three-quarters arm slot. The fastball was absolutely jumping out of his hand, living in the mid-90s, and topping out at 99 twice. He showed the ability to work the fastball to both sides of the plate, picking up countless swing and misses. In his outing, he went five innings, striking out eight hitters and allowing just two hits.

Grafton

Corey Overmeyer 1B / RHP / GRAFTON HIGH, VA / 2026

Overmeyer has a long, projectable 6-foot-4 frame. His setup is quiet and wide with an uphill barrel path. He showcased his ability to use the whole field with line drives to both right field and left field.

Colton Sandiford OF / Grafton, VA / 2025

With his physical and mature frame, Sandiford is quite the presence at the plate. He is aggressive in the box and does not get cheated. Picked up two extra base hits in the contest, a double down the left field life and a rocket home run to center field. His aggressive tendencies at the plate will continue to give pitchers difficult at-bats as the season goes on.

Lantz Williams SS / RHP / Grafton, VA / 2025

Midlothian

Cole Caffall C / OF / MIDLOTHIAN HIGH, VA / 2025

Caffall has a compact, athletic frame. At the plate, he has a crouched setup with rhythm in the hands and a quick level barrel path. Behind the plate, he is vocal and plays the game with high energy. Throughout the game, and whenever I see Caffall play, he consistently demonstrates positive leadership qualities that you would want your catcher to possess.

Brady Paul OF / LHP / MIDLOTHIAN HIGH, VA / 2025

Connor Vick OF / MIDLOTHIAN HIGH, VA / 2025

Mountain View

Timothy Hootselle C / 3B / MOUNTAIN VIEW HIGH, VA / 2025

Poquoson

Lucas Power 2B / OF / Poquoson , VA / 2026

Eli Tyndall SS / RHP / POQUOSON HIGH, VA / 2025

The VMI commit gets into the box with tons of confidence. He has a quiet, relaxed setup and is short to the ball with quick hands. Defensively, he has natural hands with athletic footwork. The reigning Class 2 All-State Player of the Year should be a key contributor to the Poquoson lineup again this year.
