Top Prospect Games (Underclass): Event Preview
June 13, 2023
OXFORD, AL - The Top Prospect Games (Underclass) will be held this Wednesday, June 14th at Choccolocco Park in Oxford, AL. Many of the top prospects in the Class of 2026-2028 in the state of Alabama will be in attendance looking to continue to make a name for themselves at an event that has proven to be a springboard for players looking to represent Team Alabama at the PBR Future and Jr. Future Games.
Our staff will be using this event to select players to represent Alabama at the PBR Future Games & PBR Jr. Future Games. The Future Games is the summer's ultimate recruiting event for 2025 and 2026 uncommitted prospects. Last year's event was attended by more than 330 college coaches. This event will take place July 26th - July 29th at LakePoint in Cartersville, GA. Last year's PBR Future Games team featured seven players from this 2022 Top Prospect Games, and this year should be no different.
+ The 2023 Top Prospect Games has grown into one of the more premier summer events on our schedule and has consistently seen players earn invites to represent Team Alabama at the PBR Future and Jr. Future Games at the end of July at LakePoint Sports in Emerson, GA. This year's event is once again filled with elite talent across the state in the 2026-2028 classes.
+ There's a strong contingent of middle infielders that are signed up for this event that have already made a sizable impact at the varsity level for their respective high school programs as underclassmen. SS Hayden Anderson (Stanhope Elmore, 2026) is one of those prospects that has garnered playing time ever since his eighth-grade year for one of the top teams in Class 6A this past spring. Anderson carries himself like a veteran and doesn't perform like a freshman. Expect for him to have a big day in his PBR showcase debut at tomorrow's event.

Short & compact w/ hand quickness, solid defender up the middle w/ good footwork.

+ SS Mayson Elam (Northridge, 2026) is another right-handed hitting middle infielder that played a large role to his team's success this spring in Class 6A. Elam, a Top-20 prospect in the rising sophomore class in AL, has already shown an impressive hit tool from the right side of the plate facing off against players that are much older than him this past spring. Coming off a strong showing at last weekend's PBRT Alabama Open, Elam will look to continue to one-up prior performances at tomorrow's event.

Wiry & athletic 5-11, 165-pounds. Good balance throughout. Solid production this spring for 6A Jags as a freshman.

+ Two more high-profile prospects in the rising sophomore class in AL that will be attendance at tomorrow's event will be RHP/3B Evan Malone (Northridge, 2026) and OF Sawyer Pearsall (McAdory, 2026), both of which are ranked inside the Top-15 in the 2026 class in AL. Malone possesses an electric fastball that is already reaching the upper-80s on the mound to go along with a sharp breaking ball, while Pearsall is a toolsy prospect that is the top-ranked outfielder in the 2026 class in AL. Both are extremely talented in their own right and are going to be must-follow's over the next few years.

+ INF Bryon Martin (Fairhope, 2026) and OF Clayton Rice (American Christian, 2026) are two more highly-ranked prospects inside the Top-35 in the 2026 class in AL that are certainly ones to follow throughout the day on Wednesday. Martin is an athletic infielder that plays with bounce and confidence, while Rice has a smooth left-handed swing to go along with an athletic, projectable 6-foot-0, 170-pound frame.
