Gray Collegiate 1 North Augusta 0
Gray Collegiate and North Augusta face off in a big high school baseball showdown. Both teams were strong on the mound, this matchup is set to be a good one from the first pitch to the final out. Pitchers dual that was a tight one all night and neither pitcher didnt disappoint on the night.
Take a look below at the notes and videos of some players that stood out from the game!!
Riley Huggins, RHP, 2027, Gray Collegiate
An outstanding start and night for this athletic right hander. Did a good job of attacking hitters and mixing pitches. Went after hitters with his FB, a 2 seamer and 4 seamer that sat 82-85 mph and topped at 86 mph. 2 seamer had arm side run and sink and did a good job with both to both sides of the plate. Slider was able to land early in the count as well as use as a put away pitch with 2 K. SL sat 68-72 mph. Also mixed in a splitter as well around 77 mph. Went 7 IP with only 2 H 0 R 0 BB and 9 K. He starts with a balanced stance, showing good posture and a slight coil in his windup. As he moves into his leg lift, he maintains stability, keeping his weight centered while generating power through his lower half. His stride is efficient, landing in a strong position with good direction toward the plate. The arm action is fluid, with a clean takeaway and a consistent release point, helping generate velocity and movement. His follow-through is controlled, ensuring a smooth deceleration and repeatable mechanics. Overall, his delivery is athletic, with room for refinement in tempo and consistency.
