The event will take place Thursday February 29th through Sunday March 3rd all at the immaculate Shipyard Park complex. This waterfront venue is a one of a kind treat that offers un-rivaled experiences, views, and memories made for both players and spectators alike.
Below are are notes and videos of some standouts from each team in the tournament.
SHIPYARD PBR SHOWDOWN - DAY 3
Jake Morris 2025 LHP Lugoff-Elgin
The frame alone gives a reason to lock in whenever Morris is on the mound or in the box. The 6’6 lefty definitely has the tools to build on and project going forward but is also a very good player presently. The Clemson commit got the start for Lugoff-Elgin on Saturday at the Shipyard and was very effective in a short outing. The fastball sat 88-89 and topped out at 91. He didn’t use much offspeed as he didn’t need it in a little over an inning of work. He also had a solid tournament swinging the bat from the left side. Big future for this 2025.

Solid start this morning for the Demons. Had several K’s in a short outing. FB sat 87-88 and topped out at 91. @ClemsonBaseball @ShooterHunt #PBShipyardShowdown24 pic.twitter.com/2YVBo94PMa
One of the most fun pitchers to watch that I have seen this year. Also has the best feel for two offspeed pitches that I have seen from a high school arm in a while. The fastball command struggled early on but the Wando Senior was able to control it later in the game and started cruising. He went 6 shutout innings for the Warriors in a win. He was able to use the breaking ball and changeup whenever he wanted and located both of them in any count. He tops out in the low 80’s but the strike throwing ability and speed changing is going to make him very effective going forward.

Has the offspeed pitches working this morning for the Warriors. Good feel of the breaking ball and the changeup with a FB topping out at 80. #PBShipyardShowdown24 pic.twitter.com/76mMejGINT
Nick Mullenix 2024 OF Northwestern
Mullenix first caught my eye on day 2 and carried it over into day 3. The lanky outfielder hits toward the top of the Northwestern lineup and seemed to always hit the ball hard. He also did a good job tracking down balls in the outfield. His consistent approach at the plate and swing could lead to a big year for this Senior and could make for a very difficult top of the lineup for the Trojans.

Has swung the bat well all week. Can play multiple positions and makes consistent hard contact. #PBShipyardShowdown24 pic.twitter.com/4VdeKR9miv
Riley Waters 2026 RHP Ashley Ridge
Waters got the start on Saturday for Ashley Ridge. Although the outcome was not what he wanted, the tools and potential are certainly there. The Sophomore right-handed pitcher ran the fastball up to 88 and sat in the 85-86 range. He mixed in a mid to upper-70’s breaking ball that has the potential to be a very effective out pitch. Waters will certainly be an arm to keep track of going forward.

Impressive arm for the Swamp Foxes. Fastball jumps out of the hand and slider has late break. #PBShipyardShowdown24 pic.twitter.com/ArHFtZz5yd
Griffin McKain 2027 LHP Legion Collegiate South Carolina Commit
McKain was one of the best pitchers that I saw in any of the action in the preseason. He got the start in a big game against Oceanside on Saturday and showed why he is the third ranked player in the state for the 2027 class. The lefty ran the fastball up to 87 and was consistently in the mid-80’s throughout the start. He pairs that with a solid breaking ball and changeup and has 3 pitches that are capable of getting any hitter out. With McKain and Salerno, Legion will have two of the best arms in the state for the next few years.

#3 ranked player in the state in the 2027 class. Tall kid with a live arm consistently in the mid to upper 80’s. @GamecockBasebll #PBShipyardShowdown24 pic.twitter.com/muri70TRKG
Caden Fragola 2025 RHP Oceanside Collegiate
The Junior right-hander from Oceanside got the start against Legion on Saturday and got off to a good start. The end result was not what the Landsharks were looking for but Fragola certainly showed some impressive stuff on the mound. He sat in the low to mid-80’s with the fastball. He also located the pitch well early and has a good amount of movement on it. Fragola also hits in the middle of the Oceanside order. I would expect a big year going forward for him.

2 solid innings so far to start game 3 for Oceanside. Getting a lot of soft contact early. #PBShipyardShowdown24 pic.twitter.com/INuzwTjQyQ
Porter Sprovero 2024 RHP Hanahan HS USC Lancaster Commit
Porter had a day on the bump going 5.2 innings with 6 Ks, 2R, 1BB. He mixed pitches well keeping hitters off balance. When he did allow hits he was able to strand those runners without damage. First 3 innings he went scoreless allowing his team to build a big lead. Competitor on the mound with a compact delivery. He relied on the FB at 80-81 with command to all parts of the plate. He dumped in a CB at 68-69 with 12 '6 action tunneling with the FB. Smaller/athletic frame that has the ability to be a big change of pace arm for Hanahan this year.
‘24 Porter Sprovero @BaseballHanahan has gone three scoreless only allowing 1 hit so far. Mixes pitches well keeping hitters off balanced @Porter_the_PO

Oakley Aguilar 2024 SS Hanahan HS Radford Commit
Fun player to watch compete on the diamond and is a natural leader on the field. Athletic frame with a strong lower half. Switch hitter that shows power and a high rate of contact from both sides of the plate. Moves well down the line and shows quick hands with natural feel for the barrel in the box. At the SS position shows above average range with an average arm across the diamond. Many balls he got in the 6 hole were very difficult plays yet he still made them. Advanced baseball IQ as he knows where he is going on each and every play.
‘24 Oakley Aguilar moves well in his stocky athletic frame. Switch hitter that posted a 3.89 time to first in this AB. @AguilarOakley @RadfordBaseball Commit@BaseballHanahan leads 3-0 in the 1st#PBShipyardShowdown24 pic.twitter.com/hPU856zJye

Eli Headley 2026 C Riverside HS
Youngster that showed the ability to swing the bat effectively for his team in the tournament. Double toe tap to time pitches up and was very often so on time. Smaller athletic frame with G2G LD approach, showing ability to hit the ball to all fields. Behind the dish blocks and receives well is able to effectively handle the pitching staff. Confidence and swagger for this youngster so far and will continue to grow and put up some numbers as the season progresses.
‘26 Eli Headley @RHSBaseballSC has swung the bat well today. So far has collected 2 hits including this 2B with 2 RBIs. #PBShipyardShowdown24 pic.twitter.com/LTkSfTGzdz
