Game 1 contained a future D1 arm on both sides - For Thomasville it was 2023 LHP Jacob Jordan, who has one of the most effective 3 pitch mixes in the state and went 6 INN, 1 ER, 5 K. Pace threw projectable 2024 RHP Ethan Rucker and he answered the bell, going 7 INN, 2 ER. The difference in the game was an absolute moonshot to left center by Troy commit ‘22 Witt Wetherington, which pulled the Bulldogs ahead 2-1 for the win.
