2025 Indiana Player of the Week: Week #4

Each week during the spring, our staff tabs a 'Player of the Week'. We rely heavily on coaches' submissions for this award, so it is imperative that coaches respond to our submission email each week in order to give our staff the ability to give recognition to players that are deserving. Each week, coaches can submit their candidates to [email protected].
Week #4 of the regular season has come to a conclusion & without further ado - find our Player of the Week for last week along with a group of honorable mentions.

Peyton Dickens OF / RHP / Whiteland Community, IN / 2025+ Dickens has been one of the biggest winners of the young spring carrying a .464 average with 4 HR through the fourth week of the season. Dickens continued his hot streak at the dish last week, going 7-for-11 (.636) with (1) 2B, (2) HR, along with (5) RBI, (5) runs scored, and (5) stolen bases. The offensive numbers were impressive, but he also showed out in his start on the mound - throwing (5) innings of a combined no-hitter, where he struck out (9). |
Honorable Mentions
+ Matt Everroad, INF, Greensburg, 2025
The Vincennes recruit is the current home run leader in the state, regardless of class, with (6) home runs already. (3) of those homers came last week, where he went 4-for-7 with (7) RBI and a pair of walks, as well.
+ Isaac Flamino, LHP/1B, Kokomo, 2025
Flamino's name continues to come across our desk, a multi-time honorable mention through just four weeks of the season. Last week, he picked up a conference win in a (5) inning, complete game, no-hit shutout, where he punched 13/17 that he faced. Flamino also added (5) hits on the week, including (3) doubles, and he also stole (6) bases.
+ Rykin Matthias, OF, North Central, 2026
The uncommitted junior left-handed slugger continues to lead the North Central offense, and finds himself on this list for the second time this spring. Last week, Matthias went 7-for-14 (.500), with a double, (2) home runs, while driving in (5) and swiping (5) SB.
+ Eli Bennett, 1B, Cathedral, 2025
The Indiana commit is really coming into his own for the Irish this spring and last week he continued to produce. Bennett went 5-for-9 across two games, collecting (6) RBI, a double, a triple, and a home run.
+ Logan Dockemeyer, LHP/OF, Kokomo, 2025
Another Kokomo senior with a quality statline during Week #4, Dockemeyer collected a win versus University where he allowed only (3) base-runners across (5) innings of work. He also added a 7-for-13 (.538) week at the dish, including: (5) RBI, (8) runs scored, and (6) stolen bases.
+ Luke Arnett, 1B, Bloomington South, 2026
Arnett is off to a huge start for the Panthers, batting (.562) on the season thus far. Last week, he went 7-for-10 (.700) with (2) doubles, a home run, and (7) RBI. Arnett also walked (4) times, with 2 coming via IBB.
+ Zane Cline, RHP/INF, Delta, 2025
The Taylor recruit picked up a conference with with a complete game, one-hit shutout where he struck out (11) in (7) innings of work. Offensively, Cline added (8) hits for Delta throughout the week, including (3) doubles.
+ Tyler Denny, OF, Mooresville, 2026
A 2026 outfielder enjoying a breakout spring, Denny went 5-for-11 at the dish with a double and (2) homers last week, with one of his homers coming as a walk-off hit in a 1-0 win over Perry Meridian.
+ Isaac Gill, RHP, Mishawaka Marian, 2027
Our staff caught Gill's start versus Westview last week and Gill impressed with a complete game shutout win, striking out (10) and only allowing (4) hits and (3) walks throughout the (7) inning performance.
+ Cody Vernich, LHP/1B, Tri-Township, 2026
Vernich was productive on both sides for 1A Tri-Township in Week No. 4 - collecting a win with (5) innings on the bump where he allowed (0) earned runs and struck out (9). He also added a 7-for-8 week at the dish, highlighted by a homer and (6) singles, and he scored (6) runs and drove in (3).
+ Jake Winger, INF/RHP, McCutcheon, 2026
The Indiana recruit has picked up right where he left off after earning 4A All-State honors as a sophomore. Winger went 5-for-9 with a triple, a homer, and accounted for (8) total runs (4 RBI; 4 runs). He also added (6) innings of work on the mound, allowing just (4) hits, and (2) runs.
+ Mayo Fernandez, 2B, Fishers, 2025
Fernandez batted (.500) for the Tigers last week, highlighted by a double and (5) RBI, while also providing game-tying hits in clutch scenarios in both of Fishers' conference wins over Westfield.
+ Jace Mayberry, C/RHP, Eastside, 2025
Mayberry provided a spark for Eastside on both sides of the ball last week. Offensively, he collected (10) RBI throughout the week, with 4/5 hits going for extra bases (3 2B; 1 HR). He also tossed (5) scoreless innings on the bump, striking out (8) and allowing just (3) hits and (1) free pass.
+ Levi Lester, 2B, Barr-Reeve, 2025
Lester continues to produce runs in bunches for 2A Barr-Reeve. Last week, Lester went 5-for-9 (.556) with a double, (2) home runs, (2) RBI, (3) runs, and (3) stolen bases.
+ Brody Shots, RHP/C, Vincennes Rivet, 2027
Shots went 7-for-9 (.778) for Rivet with (9) RBI and (4) runs scored with (3) extra-base hits in total. He also collected a win in a (4) inning stint of the mound where he struck out (9) strikeouts with just (1) BB and (0) earned runs.
+ Brayden Salyer, OF, Avon, 2026
The uncommitted outfielder went 8-for-14 last week for Orioles, including (1) 2B, 3B, and HR (each). He also collected (7) RBI's and stole (3) bases in to help Avon to a 3-1 week.
+ Jeter Chatham, MIF, Southwestern, 2026
Chatham went 7-for-10 for Southwestern last week, turning in (2) doubles and (4) stolen bases in (4) games. Chatham also scored (7) runs, picked up (3) RBI, and walked (4) times.
+ Wyatt Pennington, RHP/SS, Avon, 2025
The Evansville recruit collected extra-base hits in bunches last week for Avon. He picked up (3) doubles, a triple, and (2) home runs. In total, Pennington went 9-for-17 (.529) and drove in (9) runs in (4) games played.
+ Teegan Helmle, INF, Northwestern, 2025
The Grand View recruit went 5-for-7 (.714) in (3) games played, tripling twice while also adding (1) HR. He collected (8) RBI for the week and reached base at a .833 clip.
+ Brady Vince, OF/1B, Dekalb, 2027
Vince remained red-hot in Week #4, helping DeKalb to an undefeated week. The sophomore outfielder went 6-for-8 (.750) with (3) singles, (1) double, (1) triple, and (1) home run. He collected (5) RBIs, scored (8) runs, and added (4) stolen bases, while extending his hitting streak to (9) games
+ Quinn Lewis, SS, Northview, 2028
The freshman infielder continues to light up the varsity level, and our staff is taking note. Last week, he went 8-for-10 (.800) with a double, a homer, (6) runs scored, and (5) stolen bases.
+ Joe Washburn, SS, SB Saint Joseph, 2025
The Creighton recruit is approaching a place on the IHSAA's top career stolen base leaderboard, with (10) stolen bases last week. 10th all-time for a career is (111) and Washburn currently stands at (105) for his career. He also added (7) hits in total for the week - including a pair of triples and (7) runs scored.
+ Shawn Nowacki, SS, Mishawaka, 2025
Nowacki batted (.500) for the Cavemen last week, while reaching base in 10/15 trips. He hit (1) double, along with a (3) run homerun. Nowacki also added (8) RBI last week with a pair of stolen bases.
