The Baton Rouge Rising Stars ID is set to take place on Sunday, January 11, 2026 at the Zachary Youth Park in Zachary, LA.  This event will feature a collection of promising young prospects from Louisiana's 2030-2031 graduating classes, each aiming to make their mark as they get close to entering the high school ranks.

Our series of Rising Stars events have a dual function. For most participants, this will be their first showcase event - an initial step toward achieving a player’s baseball goals. Part of this event is educational: there will be a lecture about what scouts look for, how to comport themselves, what to expect in the recruiting process, and the overall landscape of playing at the next level. The second function of the event is to identify young talent, and at the same time getting valuable coaching in the showcase process. As the preeminent scouting service across our 40+ state coverage area, the Prep Baseball Report is looking to identify promising young prospects at an earlier age so we can more accurately track their progress through their career.

This event will also serve as an identifier for invitations to the Junior Future Games in August. The Junior Future Games will run in conjunction with the Prep Baseball Report’s Future Games. The Future Games features the top High School players in the Class of 2027 from across the Prep Baseball Report’s 40+ state coverage area. It is one of the most highly recruited events of the summer and attracts more than 300 college coaches from across the country each year.

EVENT SCHEDULE & ITINERARY

Date: Sunday, January 11, 2026

Location: Zachary Youth Park - 1650 Mount Pleasant - Zachary Road, Zachary, LA 70791

+ Check-In Times

• Check-In: 4:00-4:30 PM
• Pre-Event Introduction & Active Stretching: 4:30-4:50 PM
• 60-Yard Dash: 4:50-5:20 PM
• Defense: 5:20-6:00 PM
• Batting Practice: 6:00-6:50 PM
• Bullpens: 6:50-7:30 PM (Catchers Stay!)

The Zachary Youth Park has a turf infield and grass outfield.  Players need to have tennis shoes, turfs, or molded cleats, as NO SPIKES will be allowed on the turf.  No sunflower seeds or gum are allowed on the field or in the dugouts.  Players will receive a numbered Prep Baseball shirt and a Prep Baseball hat.  Players are encouraged to bring their own means of hydration.

Registered Infielders, Outfielders, Catchers

• Athletic Testing (60-Yard Dash)
• Offensive Evaluations (Exit Velocity, Mechanical Evaluations, Trackman Data recorded)
• Defensive Evaluations (Arm Strength, Agility/Range, Positional Analysis/Profile)

Registered Pitchers & Catchers

• Pitching Evaluations (15-18 pitch bullpen, fastball and secondary pitches from both the windup and stretch)
• Mechanical Evaluation
• Trackman pitch velocity, movement, spin analysis, and more
• Catcher Evaluations During Bullpens (Receiving/Pitch Presentation, Blocking/Mobility)
