As we look back on the 2025 summer tournament circuit here in Kansas City, we’ll be breaking down the top players by tool from each class — based on evaluations from our scouting team at Homefield and Creekside. Follow along as we take a deep dive into these players and highlight the summers they put together. Each week will feature our top five players based on each tool from the class, presented in no particular order.

Top Power Tool Class of 2028

Blake Fort 1B / 2B / Lewis Central Senior High School, IA / 2028

Fort was a regular at Prep Baseball Kansas City fall tournaments with a loaded Iowa Sticks 2028 team. He was one of the top all-around bats we saw this year, and his power is what places him among the top players in his class. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound first baseman showed the ability to drive the ball to all fields during his time with us.

Fort consistently works counts in his favor, allowing him to take his shots and drive in runs. We didn’t see many hitters who could leave the yard to the opposite field, and Fort was one of the few who could, and by far the youngest. That combination makes him an exciting long-term prospect and one to watch closely in the coming years.
