MONDAY, MARCH 3RD
+ RHP Ari Bethea (Collierville, 2025) The Tennessee signee is a guy that we have been excited about as the 2025 spring season gets underway. Bethea had a dominant junior year leading his club to Sub-State and Collierville looks like it has all the pieces to get back to Murfreesboro come May. Bethea has gained some strength in the profile and looked bigger on the mound. The velocity reflected that as he came out popping 92-93 consistently in the first inning striking out the side. He showed great feel for his breaking-ball at 76-78, using it to start off counts with, while also showing the ability to put hitters away with 2 strikes. He fell into trouble in the 3rd inning with leadoff back to back walks before getting himself out with two K’s and a pop-up to not allow a runner to score. He would settle into the 88-90 mph range on the fastball for the remainder of his outing where he went 5 innings giving up 2 BB’s to 12 K’s, while also only limiting 1 hit. Bethea should continue to build off the early momentum and looks to be in the running for 4A pitcher of the year.
