2026 OUTLOOK

+ Myrtle enters the 2026 season riding the momentum of a 26–10 campaign that ended with a Final Four appearance in Class 2A, firmly establishing the Hawks as one of the more consistent programs in the classification. Under head coach Brandon Montgomery, Myrtle returns a competitive core that has logged meaningful varsity innings and postseason experience, giving the Hawks a strong foundation as they look to make another deep run in 2A.

The lineup is built around versatility and athleticism, headlined by 2026 RHP/3B/LF JJ Hall, a true two-way piece who impacts the game in multiple facets. Hall’s ability to contribute both in the middle of the order and on the mound makes him a centerpiece of the roster. Wes Stanton returns as a steady presence in the infield, bringing reliability and competitiveness, while Junior Future Drew Stanton provides valuable versatility as a utility option capable of filling several roles. The youth movement is already making noise as well, with Jaxon Robbins and Eli Hollis, both members of the 2029 class, showing advanced feel for the game and giving Myrtle long-term upside at premium positions.

On the mound, the Hawks bring back a trio of arms that logged key innings a year ago. Hall and Drew Stanton headline the right-handed options, while left-hander Tucker Elliott, another Junior Future, adds balance and a different look out of the bullpen or in extended roles. That combination gives Myrtle flexibility in managing matchups and navigating deep into games, especially in postseason settings.

Additional depth comes from the 2026 class, where Eli Crumpton, Keaton Butler, and Jack Raines all figure to contribute in expanded roles. With a mix of proven varsity performers, versatile two-way athletes, and talented underclassmen pushing for playing time, Myrtle enters 2026 with the makeup of a team capable of building on last spring’s Final Four run and remaining a factor in Class 2A throughout the season.
