The 2025 California high school baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across California.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in their respective CIF Section Championship Game, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview these individual programs across California. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 25 rankings.

"We are coming off a very strong year in 2024 and I like what we have on our squad for this spring. Fronted by a strong trio of starters on the mound we are going to open games well with our staff, especially with Anelli and Menard. Plus, anytime you can bring back the League MVP who is still getting better like Jones it's a strong foundation for our roster. How well we play to our ability across the aboard will be vital to our success." - Coach McCaffrey

PREP BASEBALL CA STAFF’S TAKE

"Pitching and defense are the cornerstone of any winning team and the Sea Kings have that in abundance heading into the spring season. Coach McCaffrey has done a great job with CdM progam while playing in the very tough Sunset League. And, while other teams may get more publicity, the Sea Kings annually play their best ball in league. With a trio of quality arms to front the rotation, along with a deep lineup with plenty of players with a high number of varsity at-bats, CdM should be in the mix once again in the 2025 season. Despite losing in the second round to the eventual CIF-SS D3 champions, CdM is positioned for a return trip to postseason this coming season." - Les Lukach
